The Rev. James E. Ross II, Minister for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, recently spoke about the work needed for gun control, stating:
"We need a multi-pronged strategy to achieve gun control in our country, with a simultaneous focus on advocacy for legislative changes; changing the narrative that advances a false choice between gun safety and gun ownership; and, ultimately, ending our idolatry of guns. We also are reminded that just as the Prophet Isaiah called his people to bend their swords into plowshares, so we are called to seek alternatives to violence and weaponry today."
