Go Tell It On The Mountain - Beneficent Congregational Church UCC

Join Rev. Darrell Goodwin as he spends a few minutes chatting with local church pastoral leaders about how their congregation is living out our collective Southern New England Conference vision of Living the Love and Justice of Jesus. This Sunday, he will be with Beneficent Congregational Church in Providence, Rhode Island.

Our Mission
Through the power of the Spirit, Beneficent Church creates meaningful connections to God and one another and promotes justice, peace and healing in our local and global communities. We are a Christ-centered, Open and Affirming, racially, culturally, and socio-economically diverse congregation.

Our Values
We value heartfelt preaching and teaching—inspiring and encouraging people to follow Jesus. (Matthew 28: 19-20)
We value our local and global communities—reaching out to the spiritual and emotional needs of others, seeking to do justice, to make peace, and to love our neighbors. (Micah 6:8, John 13:34-35)
We value worship—together expressing and seeking our love and connection to God and our gratitude for the abundant life God has given us through Jesus. (Psalm 103: 1-5)
We value communal and individual prayer—sustaining us in good and bad times. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
We value fellowship—building relationships where people can find a spiritual home of welcome, belonging, and safety. (Colossians 2:2)
We value continuing to develop our cultural relevance—striving to recognize, validate, affirm, and reflect the various cultures present within our local community so that we can enrich one another and join in the gospel together. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)
