The Resiliency Time Capsule

The Resiliency Time Capsule

Background:  On March 13, 2020, America entered a national emergency due to the 2019 outbreak   COVID-19. Since then, the nation has been suffering under two deadly pandemics—COVID-19 and   systemic racial injustice. Consequently, the universal church was thrust abruptly into wrestling with, “How to   Be the Church” during a pandemic in a time of social unrest.

How did your church respond and continue to be church in innovative, creative and unfamiliar ways during this time?

Purpose:  To collect and preserve the history of the churches within the SNEUCC during this period of   pandemics. In doing so, future generations will reflect upon this historic period and see how the church   made the faith its own.

Invitation: We invite churches within the SNEUCC to contribute to the creation of this ground-breaking   project by sharing their story of how their church responded to COVID-19, Racial Injustice, or both   pandemic in their worship service, mission outreach, community engagement, Christian Education   programs, Congregation’s connection to each other as a church family.

Format:  We will be gathering written stories and creating a “time capsule” – a multi-media presentation   that creatively captures and tells this story. Items that reflect each church’s unique experience may include   artifacts such as pictures of events, news articles, audio/Video of on-line worship, artwork, poetry or music.
