Restorative Justice

Restorative Justice

A message from the Restorative Justice Task Team:

We can stand up for justice at every level of our society—starting in our churches—by the way we use and integrate restorative justice and practices in our lives together.

The Restorative Justice Task Team of the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ welcomes you to these pages of information and resources. We hope these resources will help you learn more about the important ways we can all be in ministry together in promoting understanding, healing, unity, and justice within congregations, schools, and communities. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every congregation within our conference could find a special way of helping to shape a system that renders justice through restorative and unifying actions that truly build community?

For more than 20 years, the Restorative Justice Task Team, composed of members of UCC churches of the historic Massachusetts Conference, has been promoting restorative practices and efforts and helping empower congregations to be a driving force in the movement for a justice of restoration, peace, and community.

Please email if you would like more information.

Grace and Peace,

Brenda Nolan, Chair, Restorative Justice Task Team

In November, 2021, the Restorative Justice team sponsored an informative forum about Victim Offender Dialogue: Martina Lutz Schneider, the VOD Director at the Ahimsa Collective, talks about the concepts and Liz McNenny tells her story about her Victim Offender Dialogue (VOD) with the man who murdered her brother. The program was co-sponsored by the West Falmouth Preparative Meeting (Quaker). Watch here:
