The Rev. Mr. Thomas P. Howard, 90,  passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 8, 2017.  Rev. Howard is survived by his life-partner Marion Harris; daughters Robbin C. Howard of Eugene, OR and Mary T. Howard and her husband Stephen E. Mooney of Brookline, MA; son Stephen P. Howard and his wife Elizabeth A. Kendall of Deale, MD, son Mark S. Howard and his partner Cristina M. Todesco of Dorchester, MA, brother Robert E. Howard and his wife Josephine of Manchester, MA; 5 grandchildren, Elisha, Emily, Caroline Kazimiera, Benjamin, and Nicole; and his former spouses Dolores Altavilla, and Clare S. Ames. 
 
Tom graduated from Harvard University in 1948, and Andover Newton Theological School, where he received his MDiv, in 1957.  Tom began his professional life as a Mechanical Engineer at Pneumatic Scale Corporation, Quincy, MA, where he designed a precision weighing machine that is still in use today.  Tom found his true calling as a Congregational minister. He served as minister of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Merrimac, MA and the Franklin Federated Church in Franklin, MA. Later, he served as an Interim Minister at several Massachusetts Congregational churches including Uxbridge, Charlton, and Ware. 
 
A Memorial Service was held Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2:00PM, at Park Avenue Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 50 Paul Revere Road, Arlington, MA 02476. A reception will be held at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Andover Newton Theological School, 210 Herrick Road, Newton Centre, MA 02459.  The interment will be private.
