The Rev. Mr. Guillermo Bergado passed away on March 3, 2020 in the Philippines where he grew up.  He is survived by his wife Betty Managbanag Bergado. 

In retirement, Rev. Bergado lived in Damaguete City with his wife of almost 65 years, Betty, who shared in many aspects of his ministry.

He received a BTh from Silliman University College of Theology, Philippines in 1954 and an M.Div from Trinity Divinity School, Deerfield, IL in 1968.  Rev. Bergado was ordained in 1956 and held UCC standing in the New Haven Association from 1989 until his death.  He was Interim Pastor in 1989 at Northfield Congregational Church in Northfield, CT, and in 1990 at Broadview Community Church in Hartford, CT.  He also served at Cagayan de Oro United Church of Christ from 1981-1987, and Silliman University in the Philippines from 1974-1982.
