"Many pastors appreciated his graceful guidance as he helped them navigate the ups and downs of parish life," said Associate Conference Minister the Rev. Dr. Michael Ciba. "His counseling was professional, confidential and compassionate. Ron also provided training for clergy and lay leaders on a variety of topics. We will miss him greatly and extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and colleagues."
Ciba said caring for the well-being of clergy and their families continues to be an essential ministry of the Southern New England Conference, and staff will be looking for ways to to maintain and strengthen this ministry in the future.
Mr. Casey was a devoted Episcopalian. He was the inspiration behind, and the Director of, the Clergy Family Assistance Program of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut as well as Consulting Psychologist there for 38 years. As such, he provided compassionate and confidential pastoral care and mental health services to countless clergy and their families across Connecticut for decades. He previously worked with the Center for Creative Leadership’s leadership development programs. In this role he provided consultation and coaching to executives, managers and other leaders from a wide range of professional settings.
