The Rev. Dr. Harry L. Peatt died peacefully at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT on May 14, 2019 after losing a battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.
After graduating from Stamford High School, The Rev. Peatt attended UConn, Southern Methodist University, Yale University, Andover-Newton Theological School, and the Herbert Holt Institute for Psychotherapy, pursuing a dual vocational career as a minister and as a licensed clinical mental health counselor.
The Rev. Peatt served as a pastor, associate pastor, or interim pastor at churches in CT, NY, NH, VT, and WY. He was and associate pastor at First Congregational Church of Stamford in the 60's and the Pastor of Roxbury Congregational Church from 1971-73. Harry also worked as the Administrative Chaplain of Southbury Training School, and worked in counseling programs in VT and Western MA before retiring. He was also an accomplished folk musician and a licensed pilot.
The son of the late Harry L. Peatt, Sr. and Helen J. Peatt of Stamford, CT,, he is survived by his beloved wife Krystyna, a daughter Debbie of Reisterstown, MD, a son Jeffrey of Finksburg, MD, a son Derek of Stockholm, Sweden, stepsons Paul Branco of Las Vegas, NV., Paul Veeder, and Douglas Veeder, four grandchildren and his faithful dog Dakota.
