The Rev. Mr. Frank Groggett, pastor of First Church in Ludlow, UCC, peacefully passed into eternal life early in the morning on June 25th, 2013.  Frank was born in Boston, July 10, 1944, the son of the late Richard W. Sr. and Bessie (Howland) Groggett.  He attended schools in Boston and was a graduate of Boston English High School.  Rev. Groggett received his Masters of Divinity at Bangor Seminary, Bangor, ME, in 1994, and his Bachelor of Arts at University of Maine in 1997, and Spiritual Direction Certification at St. Thomas University in Miami, FL in 2001.  Prior to his ministry in Ludlow, Rev. Groggett was Senior Minister at Union Congregational Church, UCC in West Palm Beach, FL  from 1997 to 2006, Interim Minister at Union Congregational Church, UCC, in Ellsworth, ME from 1995 to1997, Co-Minister at First Congregational, UCC in Calais, ME from 1993 to1995, and Associate Minister at Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church, Hampden, ME from 1990 to 1993.  He also held various leadership positions in industry and was a former owner and manager of a bed-and-breakfast inn in Wallingford, Vermont.

Frank enjoyed baking, cooking, music, all things technical, working with his hands and heart, carpentry, bike riding, and people.  He will be remembered for his warm humor, his strong singing voice, his creativity, collegiality, zest for life, and his dedication to the church and to God.  Rev. Groggett is survived by his wife Rev. Darla Dee Ledger, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Southampton, UCC, and his beloved children:  four sons, twin sons Eli W. and Griffin T. Groggett at home, Scott Groggett and wife Christy of Idaho, Todd Groggett and wife Fanny of Hawaii, one daughter Deborah Brown of Florida, one brother Robert Groggett of South Weymouth, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.  He was predeceased by one son, Obed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 11:00am at the First Church in Ludlow, UCC (859 Center Streeet, Ludlow, MA), where Frank served as Pastor.  A reception will follow.  Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, Frank's family requests memorial donations be made to either First Church in Ludlow Memorial Fund or the First Congregational Church of Southampton Memorial Fund, or to the Pastoral Excellence Program of the MACUCC, a program that supports and educates acting clergy in which Rev.
