The Rev. Dr. Lawrence "Larry" Foard, passed away on January 6, 2011. Larry was a long-time member of UCC Second Congregational Church of Westfield, as well as a professor of philosophy at Westfield State University.

Larry was a kind, generous, faithful and brilliant man who quietly used his intellectual gifts and Christ-centered will to help the vulnerable, the homeless, and the least of God's people. He was instrumental in the creation of and was the sustaining force behind many of his church's mission programs. He will be sorely missed.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judy, and his children Larue and Lawrence. A Memorial Service was held at UCC Second on January 14.
