The Rev. Mr. Seth W. Newton, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.  He is survived by his wife Helen, as well as their five children: Seth H. Newton and wife Elizabeth of Franklin, MA; Roger W. Newton and fiancée Tracey Weaver of Dallas, TX; Barbara P. Manchester and husband Thomas of Sandwich, MA; Andrew D. Newton and wife Sherri of Bluffton, SC; and Tyler F. Newton and wife Karen of Fredericksburg, VA.

In Massachusetts he served churches in Florence, Springfield, Centerville, West Dennis, Somerset, Wareham, and Dartmouth.  In retirement, he took an active role in the formation of the Mashpee Congregational Church.  In addition to serving congregations, Rev. Newton served on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ. He was the Moderator for both the Hampshire and Barnstable Associations and was the Chairperson of the Church and Ministry Committee of the Barnstable Association for nine years, in addition to being an Association treasurer for six years.

The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2PM at the Mashpee Congregational Church, located at 259 Shore Drive, Mashpee, MA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mashpee Congregational Church, PO Box 1796, Mashpee, MA 02649.
