Your congregation may be one of the many SNEUCC churches that will soon be adopting their 2023 Mission Plan (aka Budget) articulating how they anticipate using God’s resources under their stewardship to both show forth and embody the Light of Christ in the coming year.

SNEUCC infographicWe know that an important part of that process is determining your church’s contribution to Proportional Giving to Our Church’s Wider Mission (PG to OCWM). To aid congregations in understanding the impact of those contributions, we have developed a video (on the bottom of this page and available for download here and infographic (on this page and here).

I strongly urge you to show the video to your congregation at your annual meeting, whether you are on a calendar year or fiscal year, and at other gatherings. It reveals some of the many ways we as the body of Christ known as the SNEUCC have been able to manifest Christ’s Light in 2022 because of the generosity of each congregation’s contributions to PG to OCWM. Through the combined contributions of our approximately 600 congregations we are amplifying Christ’s Light throughout our region and beyond.

With your financial support we are also fulfilling our mission; living the love and justice of Jesus; and empowering our congregations to be relevant, prophetic, transformative, and transformed. Thus, I enthusiastically invite your congregation to support the mission and ministry of the SNEUCC and the UCC’s national setting by contributing to PG to OCWM in 2023.

We are very energized about the mission and ministry God has called the UCC to in Southern New England. Individually and collectively we are making a difference and having an impact as we are transforming lives and communities.

Will you please support our shared efforts by contributing to PG to OCWM so that we can more completely fulfill God’s mission through the SNEUCC and the UCC’s national setting, more powerfully live out the love and justice of Jesus, and more brightly and comprehensively proclaim the Light of Christ in word and deed throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island in 2023?

If you need guidance in calculating your church’s PG to OCWM contribution, please see the resources here. If your congregation cannot for some reason, such as a bylaw restriction, contribute via the Proportional Giving method, then we request that you use the previous method of Per Capita Dues plus OCWM Basic Support. For this method, the Per Capita Dues rate for the SNEUCC for 2023 is $17.64 per member, which is a blend of the old CT, MA, and RI per capita dues rates adjusted for inflation.

Once you have decided on your church’s contribution for 2023, would you please fill out a 2023 pledge form to let us know your church’s estimated contribution?  You can fill out the form online here.

Please remember that contributions to PG to OCWM are different and separate from contributions to your church’s Association, and you should be in direct contact with your Association treasurer regarding those contributions. You can find contact information for your Association on our region page.

Thank you once again for your church’s faithful support in the past and choosing to invest in the mission and ministry of the SNEUCC and UCC’s national setting in 2023. We are sincerely grateful as we never, ever take your generosity for granted.

May God continue to bless you as you are a blessing to others and may Christ’s Light continue to shine through you in word and deed!

Rev. Dr. David Cleaver-Bartholomew
Director of Stewardship
