HARTFORD (10/11/2016) -- The Connecticut Conference released a new video today titled OCWM: Multiplying Impact. This video offers information and testimonies about the ways in which Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM) gifts from local churches are used to create a greater impact in our conference and in the wider church.

"Many people have a strong sense of belonging to their congregation, but a more limited sense of belonging to their denomination," said Charlie Kuchenbrod, Executive Associate Conference Minister for the Conference. "We hope people will see how their gifts extend and multiply the mission and ministry of their congregation and how these gifts make an impact beyond the local church to God’s wider world."

The video describes how some OCWM gifts are distributed to the national setting of the United Church of Christ and how the Conference uses the remaining gifts to promote congregational vitality and leadership development for local churches. The 10-minute video contains several stories of how congregations, clergy, and individuals have benefited through programs offered by the Conference and made possible by the generosity of local church OCWM giving.

"It is our hope that this new video resource will be utilized by local churches who have sought concise and relevant information regarding Wider Church giving," said Conference Minister the Rev. Kent Siladi. "We encourage local churches to embed this video on website and social media outlets. We have a story to tell!"
