The Conference staff has developed a video worship service, entitled The Long Awaited Gift, which is designed for churches to use on Sunday, Dec. 27. The videos are available for streaming and for download, and churches are invited to use the entire worship service or any of the individual components of the liturgy that they choose.
The following email announcing the service was sent to clergy and churches on Dec. 15:
The Long Awaited Gift, a gift to the congregations of the Southern New England Conference is ready and available for your use! We are pleased to announce that a complete worship (liturgy) and the various worship elements (music, scripture, song, and prayer) are now ready to preview and use. You have the flexibility to choose the entire worship or an individual component or use a few components of the liturgy to create a service that is uniquely yours. Captioning is available on all videos.
Members of the SNEUCC staff offer you this worship with our gratitude and appreciation for the amazing efforts you’ve made in faithful leadership during these challenging times. As 2020 draws to an end, this may be an opportunity to take a much deserved break and provide a quality worship experience to your church.
These are elements designed with all ages in mind.
In the manner of Godly Play, there is a set of “I wonder” questions for all ages to hear and consider following the scripture reading, Luke 2:22-40, shared in Reader’s Theater style.
There’s an original song by Rev. Chuck Ericson.
You'll enjoy a creative reading of Psalm 148 in 2 voices with beautiful images.
Listen to an exuberant brass rendition of Joy to the World in 5 parts by the amazing Benjamin Gline Allen,
....and so much more!!
Won’t you take a moment or two to review all the goodness these elements offer and consider using our worship service, The Long Awaited Gift?
