St Vincent's School for children with disabilities, to whom the Haiti task force donated a van.
Monday, Jan. 14: Quite a day! 3 hours in a morning traffic jam - lots of entertainment watching everyone trying to get to work and school. Families of 4 on motorcycles, etc. St Vincent's School for children with disabilities, to whom the Haiti task force donated a van. Very long trip up to Preta Franz school - one egg recipients. Further up the mountain to the Baptist Mission where we visited a museum and purchased a few local handicrafts. We stopped at the Kenom Hotel that was a quaint old hotel that has been completely modernize - much to the surprise of our leaders. We encountered another multi- hour traffic jam on the way to our hotel but that didn't prevent us from stopping at a very modern market. It was a day of great contrasts, city, rural, rich, poor, modern, primitive, etc. Finally sitting down to supper. Headed home tomorrow.

Visiting the first well the Haiti Task Team built.

Sunday: Jan. 13:  Worship at the church in Fontamara built by the RICUCC Haiti Taskforce, Daehler Hayes brought greetings, and the team delivered soccer equipment to this coach for a team Daehler supports.

Missed worshiping at the church in Timarche because of horrible traffic. Visited the first well the task force built. Had a drink at the Olofson Hotel where we were greeted by Richard A. Morse, who records on the Buffet label.

The team presented Dukinson's family with a laptop.

Saturday, Jan. 12: Painted the interior and exterior of a house which is part if the Notre Dames Creche (orphanage). It is the home of one of the interpreters.

Had a celebration dinner in honor of Dukinson's birthday, which his family attended. The family was given a laptop so the children can do their home work at home.

Friday, Jan. 11:  We climbed a mountain to visit this school that uses our one egg program. While there we delivered dresses made by Peace Dale Congregational  UCC. Visited the Jean Bonte Institution and the One Egg Haiti farm from which some of our eggs come.

Thursday, Jan. 10: Donated many supplies to the New Horizon Orphanage, and painted the exterior of the Bellevue school.
