FEMA to Help Pay Funeral Costs for COVID-19-Related Deaths

UPDATE - April 21, 2021:

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 -related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

This notice is important for all clergy. If you know of a family struggling under the financial burden of funeral expenses due to COVID, watch your email from SNEUCC for the start of this program.

FEMA has announced that beginning in early April they will provide financial assistance for eligible funeral expenses incurred due to COVID-19. To qualify for assistance the applicant must be a “U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after Jan. 20, 2020 for a death attributed to COVID-19".
