Debby Kirk, Faith Formation Team Leader, has been named the recipient of the SNEUCC Dawn Hammond Staff Appreciation Award for May.

This award recognizes a member of the staff who has been nominated by colleagues as deserving recognition for going above and beyond in their responsibilities.

One of Debby’s multiple nominations states: "Debby works diligently and tirelessly to meet all of our goals and visions on the Faith Formation Ministry Team. As the Team Leader, she is always supportive of our work and ministries, stays on top of the many and varied details, and communicates them effectively, to all of the faith formation and youth ministry leaders and other lay and ordained leaders in our congregations who need to know them. She ensures that the Faith Formation Team remains connected to the rest of the SNEUCC staff/teams, as well as other agencies that serve as great partners with us, such as Practical Resources for Churches on Long Island and the Yale Youth Ministry Institute."

Debby was also recognized for spearheading the SNEUCC Youth @ Synod delegation: "Debby takes on each task with diligence, efficiency, and a quiet determination, which often goes unnoticed due to the vast amount of behind-the-scenes work. The end result is SNEUCC teens that enjoy a transformative leadership-building experience through exposure to the wider UCC."

Debby had served on the historic Connecticut Conference staff since 2011, and then transitioned to the staff of the Southern New England Conference.
