The Executive Committee of the Southern New England Conference Board, at the recommendation of the Annual Meeting Steering Committee, has decided to postpone the Annual Meeting previously scheduled for June 20th at Bryant College in Smithfield, RI.
“With our staff and volunteer leadership engaged in crisis response in local church and Conference settings, it doesn’t make sense to spend the next three months planning for an Annual Meeting that may not be safe or permitted,” said Dawn Hammond, Associate Conference Minister for Policy and Finance.
Instead, the Steering Committee has been asked to plan a simple one-day meeting for September, at which delegates may affirm and welcome a new Executive Conference Minister. While the hope is to hold this meeting in person at a site to be determined, plans will also be made to hold it remotely if need be.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
