Conference gauging interest in regular bulletin insert

The Massachusetts Conference staff is weighing the idea of producing a regular bulletin insert designed to help inform the laity of Conference happenings, and is looking for feedback from churches.

"There is so much going on in the wider UCC – leadership training and faith-building events, justice actions, mission opportunities," said Associate for Communication Tiffany Vail. "We understand there is a limit to how much our pastors and church administrators can do to inform the 'people in the pews' about all this."

"We do a lot to reach those folks electronically via email newsletters, the website, Facebook and Twitter," she said. "But we feel we could reach a wider range of people via print at worship services, and so we are wondering if this is something churches would be willing and able to work on with us."

The inserts would be made available as PDF files for churches to download and print, and if there is interest, printed versions would be included in the Mailing that is sent to churches each month. Content would be drawn from the Conference's weekly Emailing and from the Conference website, and would include brief news articles, event listings and other information. Each insert would include links for more information, as well as QR codes that Smartphone users could scan to instantly be taken to further information.

The Conference is asking church leaders to give their feedback to the idea via a short survey which asks such questions as whether or not they would use the inserts, how often they would use them, and what timing and formats would work for them. Access the survey here.
