Deadline for submitting Annual Meeting resolutions is Feb. 12, 2015

The Annual Meeting Business Committee has announced that the deadline for submitting resolutions to the 216th Annual Meeting is Feb. 12, 2015.

Resolutions may be related to procedure, courtesy, structure and organization, or issues of conviction. Resolutions adopted by an Annual Meeting are formal expressions of that particular body. The Annual Meeting may speak to the churches of the Massachusetts Conference, to the wider church, the government, or to society. It does not speak for the churches of the Massachusetts Conference.

Resolutions may be brought to the Annual Meeting by:
  • The Conference Board of Directors and program councils;
  • Local church congregational meetings and governing boards;
  • Association meetings and governing boards.

Resolutions may be submitted to the Business Committee through Dawn Hammond at hammondd@macucc.org.

About the Meeting

The 216th Annual Meeting is being held June 12 - 13, 2015, at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Nadia Bolz-WeberThe theme of this year's meeting, inspired by is 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, is “Treasure in Clay Jars.”

The keynote speaker is Nadia Bolz-Weber, the founding pastor of House for All Sinners and Saints, an ELCA mission church in Denver, Colorado. She’s a leading voice in the emerging church movement and her writing can be found in The Christian Century and  the Sarcastic Lutheran blog.. She is author of Pastrix: the Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Sinner & Saint (Jericho, 2013) and Salvation on the Small Screen? 24 Hours of Christian Television (Seabury 2008).
