EASTHAM — There were lots of short, seemingly friendly horn honks Saturday at the Route 6 rotary, as cars rounded the curves and passed Christine King of East Orleans, Dawn Walnut of Brewster and Kat and Lauren Elliott-Grunes, also of Brewster. at least 70 people were spread out along the grassed edges near the fast-rolling traffic. Some signs were as simple as one word and made that morning, like "Welcome" on a white poster board. Others, sturdier in the rain, had been made the night before with scrap wood: "Compassion For All Children."
