The Rev. Heather Ramsey Mabrouk, Program Director for the Together We Thrive ecumenical program, has been named as the Interim Director for the Southern New England Conference's Center for Transformational Leadership (CTL).
“I am honored," Rev. Ramsey Mabrouk said. "As the Program Director for Together We Thrive, I have been connected with the CTL Team since its creation in 2021. I am looking forward to continuing the work that has already begun, as well as deepening the connection between the clergy leadership development work of Together We Thrive and the lay leadership development work of the Center for Transformational Leadership. Being able to connect congregations and leaders with one another and with resources that inspire health, vitality and innovation is one way I can contribute to the building up of the body of Christ.”
Rev. Ramsey Mabrouk will continue in her role as the Program Director for Together We Thrive, a collaboration between the SNEUCC, the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts and the New England Synod ELCA, Lutheran. The program was funded through a Lilly Endowment grant.
“I will continue in my role as the Program Director for Together We Thrive, maintaining the ecumenical relationship built through the Initiative and working towards a path of sustainability for the most important and impactful programs," she said. "Further integrating Together We Thrive into the Center for Transformational Leadership will be key in building that sustainability.”
The CTL's Founder and Director, Bridget Johnson, left the staff March 15 after having accepted a position at another organization.
"As the program director for Together We Thrive, Rev. Heather Ramsey Mabrouk comes with experience and a successful track record of building ecumenical partnerships, curating and supervising programs that undergird clergy wellness and strengthen clergy and church ministry, and connecting with churches. I'm confident that the good work that has begun in the CTL will thrive under Heather's leadership," said Rev. Dr. Audrey Price, Executive Minister for Strategic Operations.
Rev. Ramsey Mabrouk is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and, prior to her call to lead Together We Thrive, had served as a local church pastor for 14 years in the Historic Massachusetts Conference and then the New York Conference. While serving in the local church, she was active on the Association and Conference levels leading workshops on Youth Ministry and Christian Education, planning and facilitating Conference-wide or Association-wide Confirmation Retreats, teaching Boundary Awareness Training, creating community-wide ecumenical worship opportunities, and giving Interfaith presentations with her husband Nawfal, who is Sunni Muslim.
