Support the relocation of recovery programs lost on Long Island
BostonWarm, the coalition of faith leaders organized in part by City Mission Society, has started a new advocacy strategy to help two crucial detox and recovery programs lost on Long Island relocate to the mainland. BostonWarm is circulating a petition calling on Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Jay Ash to open an investigation into Philadelphia Insurance's decision to deny the business interruption claim of Victory Programs and Bay Cove Human Services, which operated many of Long Island's recovery beds.
Attorney General Maura Healey has already begun an inquiry, and the petition seeks to add our voice to tell Philadelphia Insurance that denying critical assistance to these programs during an opiate state of emergency was wrong.
