Health Ministry

Hello, welcome to Health and Wellness Ministry of the SNEUCC!

I am Deborah Ringen, Minister of Health and Wellness. I have been a nurse for well over 40 years, and a faith community nurse for 18 years. It is my calling to help churches engage in health and wellness programs to support healthy individuals, congregations and communities.

Faith community nurses, (parish nurses) and lay health leaders nurture the connection between faith and health. Our faith is part of what makes us whole, so we must care for the whole person - mind, body and spirit through the journey of life.

Health and Wellness Ministry promotes health as harmony with one’s self, others, the environment and God. Programs may include food and comfort to people experiencing crisis, collaboration with community programs such as AA, or NA, grief groups, prayer shawls, health education, health promotion and disease prevention education.

Faith community nurses support individuals and families during crisis of illness, disability, job loss, and happy times such as the birth of a child. Health Ministry activities engage people from birth to death. The opportunities for programs are tailored specifically to the needs of the individual congregation.
