Niantic Community Church is proud to host the fourth in our LGBTQ+ educational series, 104: Being a Good Ally, led by Rev. Dr. James Ross, on Sunday, September 24 at 10:30am after our 9am worship service and fellowship time.
“If the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is right in his assertion that we are all ‘caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny’ and ‘whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly,’ it is also true that we all have something at stake whenever anyone is oppressed.
Our work, then, is not about rescuing someone else or helping them to achieve their freedom. Our work is to ensure our own liberation and the salvation of us all. Rather than allies, we are called to be compatriots, collaborators, and comrades.”
-Rev. Dr. James Ross, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, SNEUCC
