Our three-part series on Faith Formation and Discipleship trends begins on October 22nd at 10 AM with the Rev. Traci Smith.

Traci will discuss how clergy and formation practitioners can encourage and support parents to embrace faith formation and shaping young disciples. As a movement from simply teaching weekly in partnership with our congregations to a parental role and partnership of equipping young disciples daily, at home.

Traci, who is known widely for her weekly e-blast, Treasure Box Tuesday and who is the author of three books on family formation, will share strategies and practices for guiding parents to view formation as an every day and seasonal opportunity to enable all to grow closer to God together.
As we've adjusted to CoVid 19, has this pandemic time provided an opening for this movement? If so, how is it most impactful? Join Traci Smith, your So. New England Conference Faith Formation staff and peers and colleagues from local churches, to hear more about this emerging trend to empower and equip parents for a role they traditionally express feeling inadequate for. As learners sharing a mutual experience with family members, whomever they may be,  parents may find their families more fully and deeply enriched as they together, seek relationship with God.

The cost is $10.00 per person or $25.00 for the series of three events in the series including:
From Analog to Digital with Rev. Lee Yates on 11/5/20 and From Gathering to Connecting with a panel of 4 outstanding local church leaders on 11/19/20.

Our First Presenter: Rev. Traci Smith is an ordained minister in the PC(USA) and mother of three. Traci has a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and Bachelors of Arts (Spanish) and Social Work from Calvin College. Traci lives in Elmhurst, IL with her husband, Elias, and their children. Traci’s passion is helping families find time for connection and spiritual nourishment amid the hustle and bustle of daily life. Traci believes faith practices should be fun, easy to fit into daily life, and accessible to all. She is the author of three books focusing on faith and family and offers a weekly email called “Treasure Box Tuesday” of all the best resources for Children/Family Ministries.
