Nonviolence: A Way of Life
Sunday, October 4, 12 p.m.
A Zoom Presentation sponsored by the John P. Webster Library at First Church, West Hartford
Victoria Christgau, Executive Director of the CT Center for Nonviolence (CTCN), will address the importance - and potential - of nonviolence in a society steeped in violence. A lifelong peace and nonviolence educator, Ms. Christgau founded the CTCN in 2007 at the request of legendary civil rights leader, educator, and activist, Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr. The CTCN is a leader in Nonviolence education, and is dedicated to bringing people from diverse communities together in dialogue and creative expression to explore the root causes of violence, and to collaborate in finding alternative solutions. Register here to join this important conversation.
The CT Center for Nonviolence has worked with hundreds of people to train and implement the philosophy and strategies of Kingian Nonviolence across racial, social, economic, and generational divides. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Hartford Courant and numerous private periodicals. She is the winner of the Courant’s 2010 Tapestry Award for her work building bridges and understanding.
