Leaders: Kirsten Foyles and Terri Sinclair

Copyrights can be complicated, and as many churches seek to record or stream services, they are encountering new issues. If you own the hymnals, can you stream the music? Since Amazing Grace is public domain, can you use it in your recorded worship service? Learn the answers to these questions, and get a chance to ask your questions live!

Kirsten Foyles is Director for Children and Youth Music at Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst, NC. She holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin and a law degree from the University of Louisville. Foyles obtained certification through the Choristers Guild Institute in July 2015 and will graduate in July 2019 with Kodály Certification and a Masters’ Degree in Kodály Music Education through the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University Maryland. Together with her co-author, Foyles has written an original anthem, With One Voice, and a book entitled Raising the Bar Line: Engaging Congregations Through Experiential Music and Worship Arts. She currently serves as In House Counsel at First Bank.

Dr. Terri Sinclair has 21 years of experience in higher education; most recently, she was Associate Professor/Director of Choral Activities at Coastal Carolina University. She is currently Director of Music at Community Presbyterian Church. She holds the DMA in Choral Conducting from UNC-Greensboro, the MM in Choral Conducting from Florida State University, and the BM in Piano Performance from UNC-Chapel Hill. She has led numerous workshops at professional conferences including the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators Annual Event and has presented a webinar for the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
