How can congregations deepen their support to LGBT youth?

Join us for an engaging workshop: Supporting LGBT Youth- Identities, language, and safety.

Leaders and mentors of all generations must work to understand the different spectrums that gender and sexual identities exist within, and use this as the foundation to define queer terminology. We'll explore various ways to support LGBT children and youth in our church settings.

Our Presenter: Ms. Lauren Dube, is the Director of Children and Family Ministries at the First Church in West Hartford. She studied Sociology and Religion at Central Connecticut State University. Here she formed an informal bible study for LGBT Christians to process and heal from strained relationships with religion. At her home church, the First Church in Windsor, Lauren taught Sunday school for 9 years, which shaped her commitment to Faith Formation. Lauren has volunteered at True Colors, and will be presenting at the 2020 True Colors Conference. She proudly identifies as a queer, non-binary Christian and works regularly to create safe spaces in church.
