With the rise of widespread broadband internet service, social media platforms, and affordable yet capable hardware, an assortment of creative digital ministries have been taking root in churches in the Southern New England Conference for quite some time. In 2020 however, the expansion of digital ministries went viral across the conference and around the world due the coronavirus pandemic.  Churches across our conference have made earnest, and often quite effective, efforts to keep our communities of faith connected to each other and to the gospel of Jesus Christ even while the members and friends of the churches must stay apart.

Digital Ministry System Designs

Our design guides provide a framework for connecting audio and video components and configuring equipment so that churches can build out livestreaming systems. These guides are intended for churches building their own systems as well as for those contracting with an A/V contractor.

Content for Online Worship

A conference staff-curated collection of digital resources produced by the conference or shared by other settings that may be used by churches during worship or other gatherings.

Instructional Videos

We are building a library of video tutorials designed for our churches.

Resources from Others

We complied an ever-growing list of content creators whose focus and passion is digital ministry.  This list includes resources for digital content for broadcast, digital ministry best practices and trends, social media strategies, Audio/Video theory, and supportive communities.

 Roundtable Discussion Archive

Tech Deacons throughout the conference meet each week. These roundtable discussions have been recorded since January 26, 2021. Click on the button below to catch up or revisit past discussions.

Production Dictionary

We realize that technical conversations can sometimes descend into an alphabet soup of acronyms, in which you're left wondering about the difference between HDMI and SDI and so on. Click on the link to download dictionary of production terms written by  Carl Barnhill & Luke Mcelroy of twelve thirty media. The production dictionary cost is $10.00

Copyright and Livestreaming

Churches need to be mindful of copyright law whenever your community is gathered in-person, digitally or both. Proper licensing ensures that writers and composers are properly compensated for their work. .

Position Descriptions

We gathered sample position descriptions for those churches seeking to hire an audio-video or social media professional. We recognize that each setting is different and welcome you to adapt them to the needs of your congregation.

Authorization and Release Forms

Churches need to be mindful of copyright law whenever your community is gathered in-person, digitally or both. Proper licensing ensures that writers and composers are properly compensated for their work. .
