We are seeking a part-time Sound and Media Technician to set up and run the sanctuary AV system, to record & live stream worship services, upload videos to YouTube, run presentation software, and design digital graphics/slides as need.
This individual will work approximately 5 hours per week which includes working in church Sunday mornings and on religious events and preparation at the church prior to these events.
Under the direction of our Director of Music Ministry this position will produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. This includes but is not limited to, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the co-pastors want to convey, and supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up for musicians and installing equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions
- Creating and sharing links to live streamed services.
- Performing proper sound check; including gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume settings, and eq/mixing process. Monitor sound feels to ensure quality.
- Testing and resolving equipment and media system issues.
- Checking with Director of Music Ministry for worship schedule and any schedule changes.
- Providing training and guidance to two Audio Visual Assistants as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Able to work in team settings and take directions.
- Experience mixing audio successfully in the live environment.
- Have good communication skills.
- Ability to think quickly and react/trouble shoot properly in high stress situations.
