Job DescriptionA successful candidate will promote the spiritual growth and transformation of the children at First Congregational Church of Southington through teaching church school lessons for children in preschool-grade 6 while emphasizing fun, spiritual growth, community, learning and safety.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Nurture children’s spiritual growth and transformation in cooperation with their parents/guardians and the rest of the church.
- Interact with the children and encourage their involvement in activities.
- Maintain a warm, safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing.
- Teach them about Jesus, the Bible, the traditions of the church, and progressive Christianity.
- Candidates must be willing to work in a church setting and support the efforts of FCC Southington.
- Have experience working with children of varying ages. An early childhood education or education degree or child development courses preferred but not required.
- Candidates must be eighteen years of age or older, be willing to submit to a background check and comply with Safe Conduct policies and requirements.
- CPR and first aid trained is preferred but not required.
- An ideal candidate will not be a current member of FCC Southington.
Additional hours may be available during church special events as well.
Compensation: $15-18 per hour based on experience
Number of positions: four part-time positions are available.
