OUR CHURCH
The First Church in Sterling is a church affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United
Church of Christ committed to creating heaven on earth. We have been in the heart of Sterling since 1741 and are committed to living out a progressive Christian faith that is open to, and affirming of, the full humanity of all persons, especially those who historically have been marginalized in the life of the church and the world, including LGBTQ+ persons.
As the first point of contact for the church, we expect the Office Manager to embrace and affirm the mission statement. However, membership or participation in the church is not a prerequisite for applicants.
POSITION OVERVIEW
In this key role, the Office Manager is responsible for:
- Facilitating the day-to-day operations of the pastor and staff
- Managing use of the church building
- Providing front line hospitality
- Managing church communication
- Maintaining church databases
- Partnering with the Treasurer and Operations Team to oversee budget, monthly report distribution, pledges, incoming and outgoing funds, and payroll
- Target start date is June 20, 2023
BENEFITS
The Church Office Manager will work from our church office located at 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road in Sterling,
MA and is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
The position requires 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.
