Office Manager - Danbury, CT

King Street United Church of Christ, an open and affirming congregation, is looking for an office manager to support our small but extremely active church. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with knowledge of church administration and will have exceptional communication and computer skills. This is a part-time position of approximately 12 to 15 hours per week.
Duties include:
—Organizing, editing, and copying the weekly Sunday bulletin and the accompanying insert and supporting our pastor in preparing any necessary worship materials.
—Preparing and sending out our weekly informational e-letter.
—Creating, maintaining, and distributing the church calendar.
—Managing the use of the church facility, both for church committees and organizations, and also for outside groups that rent our space.
—Organizing and emailing monthly “consent agenda” and other materials for the Ministry Council meetings.
—Maintaining an accurate membership list.
—Organizing mailings and general office duties.
Our office manager is often the first face a visitor meets, so we are looking for a welcoming, caring, and compassionate person who is able to work with a variety of different people in different situations. Discretion and the ability to keep information confidential is key. Experience working in religious communities or churches is a big plus. The ability to work independently is vital.
