The mission of the LGBT Asylum Task Force Ministry of Hadwen Park Congregational Church,
UCC is to support the basic human needs of LGBTQ people seeking asylum in the United
States. The mission provides housing and a stipend and seeks to facilitate the provision of other
resources. Additionally, the mission seeks to educate the public about the struggles and
challenges of the international LGBTQ community who need to seek asylum because of their
sexual orientation or gender identity.
 
The LGBT Asylum Task Force Associate Ministry Director is accountable for supporting the
basic human needs of LGBTQ people seeking asylum in the United States that have been
officially accepted into the ministry as a client, and for supporting the work of the Hadwen Park
Congregational Church, UCC LGBT Asylum Task Force Ministry including the LGBT Asylum
Task Force Ministry Auxiliary, the LGBT Asylum Task Force Ministry Steering Committee, and
the LGBT Asylum Task Force Ministry Community Dinners/Meetings.
 
The LGBT Asylum Task Force Associate Ministry Director will report to the Hadwen Park
Congregational Church, UCC Church Council and the Personnel Committee, under the direct
supervision of the Ministry Director of the LGBT Asylum Task Force. This is a part-time position.
