Director of Music Ministries - Kennebunkport, ME

The First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport has an immediate need for a Director of Music Ministries to direct the Church choir and provide organ and/or piano music during Sunday worship service and special occasions.  We desire a candidate who nurtures eager singers of all talent levels, has proficiency on both organ and piano, and enjoys being both a solo performer and an accompanist.

Our Church sanctuary features a beautiful refurbished 1854 E.&G.G. Hook organ and a 1905 Steinway piano.  We use the Hope Worship & Rejoice Hymnal for our congregational singing.  For more information on our Church, please go to: www.firstschurchkport.org.

Responsibilities would include:  playing the organ and/or piano for Sunday worship and special services; directing and accompanying the choir (organ, piano or other musical accompaniment), and first refusal for weddings and funerals.  Other duties would include: selecting preludes, postludes, and anthems; having choir rehearsals at a mutually agreed upon time; and work collaboratively with the pastor -- meeting monthly for planning all services and for long-range planning for the music program.

Our Sunday services are held from 9:30 – 10:30 am. and occasional attendance at other meetings as agreed upon.

Applications accepted immediately; to start as soon as possible.

Please submit your cover letter and resume and/or questions by email to:  Chairperson, Music Search Committee:  <sewingnana603@gmail.com> or by mail to:  First Church of Kennebunkport, 141 North Street, Kennebunkport, ME  04046.
