AV Tech Operator for Hybrid Services, Northampton, MA

Summary: Edwards Church of Northampton is a vibrant congregation engaged in service to the wider community. From our downtown location we collaborate with a broad range of area nonprofits that serve community meals, provide direct services to the unhoused, help people fleeing domestic violence, facilitate recovery groups, and more. An Open and Affirming congregation, we welcome the LGBTQ+ community, strive to combat racism, and assist refugees and transgender asylum seekers. The cornerstone for all that we do, and a major source of ongoing inspiration, is our weekly worship on Sunday morning.

To support our current audio-visual operation and identify ways to enhance the production quality and the congregation’s experience of our worship services, we are seeking a technically capable and creatively inclined individual to join our worship team. The ideal candidate will have experience with sound and video systems in a live performance, public meeting, or worship setting and be interested in becoming part of a professional creative team dedicated to continuously improving the Sunday morning experience for our online and on-site congregation.

Sunday morning requires 2 – 2.5 hours (9:15-11:45), with 2 hours per week likely enough once settled into a routine. Additional time may be required preparing slides and other materials for use on Sunday, most or all of which can be remote. Compensation commensurate with experience, with a range of $100-150 per week.

The ideal candidate is reliable and creative, works well under pressure, can switch gears quickly, and is interested in expanding their skills.
