Position Description

Position Title: Administrative Support Associate
FTE: .57 (20 hours/week)
Exemption: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Executive Assistant
Department/Areas: Human Resources, Fundraising and Development, Senior Team

Position Summary
The Program Support Associate provides support for the of day-to-day work of the Director of Human Resources and Staff Engagement and contributes to the support of Donor Relations and other senior staff.
The Administrative Support Associate serves the United Church of Christ by providing an environment and a culture that embodies the 4-part vision of the Southern New England Conference to: Make disciples of Jesus Christ; Make God’s love and justice real; Bring new life as agents of change; and form covenant partnerships, with an emphasis on bringing new life as agents of change especially as it relates to how colleague interactions take place. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains HR records in accordance with procedures established by supervisor.
  • Maintains online HR policy manual and related staff resources.
  • Handles logistics related to online and in-person staff training and development.
  • Provides logistical support for staff appraisal processes.
  • Ensures that all staff receive and complete the necessary documents for onboarding and offboarding, including but not limited to benefits applications, release forms and confirmation of receipt of policies.
  • Maintains internal HR events calendar and other HR-related calendars.
  • Enters constituent and donor development data into databases; generates reports
  • Coordinates web content and updates web pages as requested by supervisor
  • Provides coordination and serves as liaison to others within the Conference.

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • At least two years of clerical or administrative experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization* - *Requires the ability to use computer hardware and software and database systems in the regular performing of job duties.
Verbal Aptitude -Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude - Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to calculate decimals and percentages; may require ability to utilize principles of fractions and/or interpret graphs.
Functional Reasoning - Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership. Ability to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to problem resolution.
Situational Reasoning - Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.

Physical Ability - Tasks involve the ability to travel to meetings outside office, exert moderate physical effort, and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials up to 20 pounds. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and/or repetitive motion.
Sensory Requirements - Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Requires oral communications ability.
Environmental Factors - Tasks are occasionally performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, or pathogenic substances.

Hours and Compensation
This position pays $27 per hour, with generous paid time off as specified in Conference HR Policies. There are no other benefits associated with this position.
