2020 Faith Formation Leadership Program Certificate Recipients
Jenny has been serving as the Director of Children's Ministries at Round Hill Community Church in Greenwich, CT since September 2016. Previously, she was employed with the Town of Greenwich as the Youth Services Bureau Administrator, where she was most humbly honored and recognized as a Community Health Hero by Greenwich Hospital, Youth Services Bureau Administrator of the Year with the state of CT, and with the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Micheal Dunn Quality of Life award for helping to coordinate and connect children and families to services. Jenny left the position and took a leap a of faith to follow a call to discernment in 2016, and began UCC certification in 2017, and began classes in Ministry Preparation Certification at Chicago Theological Seminary. Jenny expresses her faith with one of her favorite passages from Matthew 19:13-14: Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Debi has served at the First Congregational Church of Vernon, UCC in Connecticut for the past 6 years. She is the mother of 4 adult daughters and and Gran to 2 with another on the way. Debi has spent her entire adult life volunteering with children. She was a Girl Scout leader for 19 years for Daisy through Senior scouts. She was a youth group advisor for FCCV as a volunteer for 10 years and as staff for 6. Taking youth on mission adventures, where they learn to serve God for social justice is one of Debi's favorite things to do. Debi lives in Rockville, CT with her husband of 32 years, David.
Kristin has been the Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry at the Seekonk Congregational Church, Seekonk, MA since the year 2000, and is responsible for providing faith formation for children and youth of all ages. She offers church school classes as a live interactive virtual experience for Preschool through 8th grade, and leads a virtual 9th grade confirmation class. Kristin stays connected with her church families, offering faith at home opportunities for the whole family.
Kristin is also employed part time for the Southern New England Conference as the Christian Education and Youth Ministry Resource Consultant. She was originally hired by the historic Rhode Island Conference in 2012 and she continues to share all of her faith formation skills with the many Southern New England Conference churches and their leaders. Kristin also serves as the Chair of the New England Association of United Church Educators Planning Team for their virtual education event 2021.
Kristin holds a BFA in Visual Design and has run her own business designing and painting murals since 1990. She often utilizes this creativity in her teaching and faith forming approaches with children, youth and families.
