Just Peace Players is a liturgical drama troupe committed to sharing its many visions of peace and justice through the dramatic arts. The troupe was formed in the early 1990s by five ordained ministers in the Metropolitan Boston Association of the Historic Massachusetts Conference UCC. Now we are happy to be part of the Southern New England Conference.

We have performed for churches in all three historic conferences, across New England and the Mid-Atlantic, Synods and National Gatherings of the UCC Open and Affirming Coalition. We look forward visiting you again!

We create a new play almost every year by writing collaboratively. We have a passion for social justice and peace, and a deep commitment to challenge people to work daily to create an inclusive, justice-centered world. We also create drama-based resources designed to help people reflect on their faith, economic justice, ending homelessness, restorative justice, becoming a multi-cultural church and welcoming and affirming LGBTQQI+ and same gender loving people to their communities.

Now more that ever, we are engaged with local churches and faith communities that are looking for new ways to welcome and support LGBTQQI+ and same gender-loving people.

Doing anti-racism work has always been an important part of our ministry too. Our new play GET UP! invites individuals, churches and
At General Synod 2019 with other church members
community groups to become openly anti-racist and actively work to change policies and laws that promote racism.

You can see it at Super Saturday this fall.

During the COVID crisis we will come to your church or community organization live via ZOOM or pre-recorded and stay after for a conversation. We hope to see you in person soon.

Our Plays

GET UP! is a call to get up, share God’s love and end racism. We call white people to understand how systemic racism impacts everyone and wounds the world. We believe we can grow, learn and stay woke while working together to create a just, new world.

Women of the Greatest Generation: Stories of Faith, Hope, Love and Courage uses the original words of women who lived through World War II to tell their stories of faith, hope, love and courage.  Our hope is that it invites us to share our own stories and work for peace.

Hey, Save the Earth shares the true stories of people who are working to care for creation. It includes imaginary stories of birds and animals who want us to work with them to save the earth too.

I Love to Tell the Stories calls on communities of all kinds to explicitly welcome and fully empower LGBTQQIA people to participate in their community.

Just Love celebrates 40 years of Open and Affirming in the United Church Christ.
Contact Rev. Dr Fran Bogle for more information, or to schedule a performance! We will work with you to make it happen. Visit www/justpeaceplayers.org for more info.
