Climate Change: Prioritizing Our Global and Local Response

Our own Rev. Margaret Bullitt-Jonas, Missioner for Creation Care for the SNEUCC, and Rev. Jim  Antal, former Minister and President of the MA Conference, UCC, will be featured speakers this coming week at the Chautauqua Institution in Western New York.  Chautauqua (NY) is an amazing place and an amazing experience as anyone who has been there can attest.  This year, as a result of the COVID virus, programming which would normally be at the site in Chautauqua, NY is being done digitally.  And we all have the ability to enjoy it for free!

In a typical Chautauqua Summer, each week has a theme and lectures, performances and other activities follow that theme. This year, the theme for the week beginning Sunday, June 28, and continuing throughout the week is "Climate Change:  Prioritizing Our Global and Local Response" and the daily keynote lectures (10 AM) follow that theme. Each week begins with a powerful worship service on Sunday led by impressive religious leaders, followed by daily sessions led by the "preacher of the week".  This week, Margaret Bullitt-Jonas is that worship leader.   Also, each day there is an afternoon (2 PM) interfaith lecture and the theme is "Faith to Save the Earth".  Jim Antal will be providing that lecture on Thursday, July 2.

I encourage people to sign up for the free video access and then to share the Chautauqua experience virtually,  and especially to hear and learn from Margaret Bullitt-Jonas and Jim Antal during the week of June 28.  To view them, you need a subscription to CHQ Assembly All-Access Video Pass. To sign up for the free 90-day trial (if you decide to continue, you pay $45/year), visit here.  For complete information on this event, visit the Chautauqua Assembly Website.
