Massachusetts Interfaith Power & Light has announced the 2012 Cool Congregations Challenge. MIPL describes the challenge as "a national contest to recognize faith communities that are responding to climate change and becoming good stewards of Creation."
The contest, endorsed by the MA Conference Justice & Witness Commission, is now officially open for entries - so if your church has been working on energy-saving measures, you might think about applying. Entries will be accepted until midnight on Oct. 18. $1,000 cash prizes go to the winners in each of the following categories:
• Energy Efficiency and Conservation
• Renewable Energy
• Grounds and Water Conservation
• Engaging Congregants and Communities
