Learning How to Offer Mental Health First Aid

Learning How to Offer Mental Health First Aid

Share
Does your church have a First Aid Kit?

Do people in your congregation know how to do the Heimlich or CPR?

These are steps that we take because we are a community of people that care for one another.  Mental Health First Aid also provides such skills.

Thanks to the Interfaith Counseling Center and Bradley Hospital, ministers and lay leaders have the opportunity later this month to take an eight-hour course on Mental Health First Aid that will give them the skills to help someone over age 18 who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.

The course is being held Jan. 24 and 25 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bradley Hospital in East Providence. Click here to find out how to sign up.

In October a number of our ministers and lay leaders took this course and found it very helpful.  Want to talk to someone who took the course?  Contact me at peggymatteson@cox.net
