Below is an email from Zack Wolgemuth, our national UCC Disaster Ministries Coordinator. For the last couple days, we have been moved by the reports and stories of tornadoes moving through several states. The spring tornado season has begun. Unless you have been through this level of devastation, it is hard to imagine the grief and suffering. Our UCC churches and denomination are already at work bringing relief and comfort. And there is a long road to go.
Zack's email will tell you how to respond with aid. Remember, because of your generosity to Our Church's Wider Mission, all of the funds you send will go for aid and services to survivors.
Thank you for your gifts and prayers.
Rev. Don Remick, for the Disaster Resource Team
Dear Conference Disaster Coordinators,
Over the past several days there have been strong storms stretching across much of the Mid-west and South that have produced deadly tornadoes, flooding and power outages in several states. Below is a link to UCC Disaster Ministries' response to current storms. Hopefully this is/will be helpful to those of you answering questions about how to support survivors and what UCC Disaster Ministries is doing. Also, a special thanks to those of you in these affected regions that have been contacting congregations, communicating with partners, and sitting in on conference calls.
Peace and blessings,
Executive, UCC Disaster Ministries
