Accommodations

Irons Homestead is an Outdoor Ministry of the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ. We offer simple accommodations for groups seeking a self-led experience emphasizing minimal impact on the environment. Come, gather, connect with God and one another. 

Indoor Spaces

Bedrooms: There are 9 bedrooms set up with 15 bunk beds plus a storage room that has one bunkbed. Eight of the bottom bunks are double bed futons. The rest of the beds are standard twins. You must supply your own linens, towels, blankets and pillows. There is a sink in each room.

Bathrooms: Each bathroom has two toilets, two sinks and two private showers. We supply hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels.

Kitchen: Our kitchen is fully equipped with stove, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, full-sized refrigerator, coffeemaker and dishwasher. We have two crock pots and a full array of pots, pans and baking sheets. There are place settings for 30 which also include platters and serving bowls. There is a propane grill outside the lodge with tongs and spatula. We supply paper towels, napkins, coffee, filters, tea and sugar.  You supply your food or we can provide food service upon negotiation.

Meeting Room: This 28’ X 21’ room features a working fireplace. There are round and rectangular tables that seat 8 each and 40 cushioned chairs. We have a variety of board games and puzzles. Also available are easel, TV/VCR/DVD, and CD player. There are an assortment of Bibles and a few song books. A water cooler provides both chilled and hot water. Also, a small selection of floor pillows.

Screened Porch: Our large screened porch offers bug free outdoor relaxing space. It has chairs and end tables.

Outdoor Spaces

Our 70 acres has several walking trails, a labyrinth, fire circles, swing set and slide, sand volleyball court, chapel, open lawn, a large meadow and ½ basketball court. Also, a large, stone charcoal grill, near the pavilion.

Pavilion: Our Pavilion is 75’ X 25’, has a concrete floor and electricity. It has several picnic tables, two long benches and a large fireplace. There is a propane fired grill.

Waterfront: Our beach is located on Coomer Pond a ¼ mile walk from the lodge. Swimming is available June – September. All groups are required to have a certified lifeguard presents to use the beach or to boat. The lifeguard fee is $20 per hour and advanced reservations are required. Life jackets are required for all boaters.
